- About Me:
- I have been learning to write for 18 years now. When I gave my heart to Christ, 18 years ago, I started writing poems. They weren’t anything of great significance, they just rhymed. Five years later, I wrote a devotion. I didn’t know I wrote a devotion, until a friend of mine said it read like one. I have been learning to write them ever since.
In the mean time, I have gone to Mt. Hermon, California, 3 times to attend their annual Christian Writers Conference. I have learned how to better structure my writing, and get advice from freelance writers, editors, and authors. Also, taking an English 101 class has helped me tremendously.
I have lived in Washington state all of my 37 years. I am currently attending Church For All Nations in Lakewood, Washington, and loving it. I have helped out in many ministries at my church, including youth and tech. I taught as a youth leader for 4 years, and am currently in the tech ministry full time. I am hoping to start a writing ministry soon, as well.
I really love video production. I have filmed and produced a promotional video for an after school program, and National Day of Prayer for Pierce County, Washington. I also hope to pursue video production later on in life.

- Meeting all of God's wonderful people; getting my picture taken with Jerry Jenkins, and having my eyes closed; meeting with Rick Steele (editor from AMG Publishers) and getting the green light to send in a book proposal for a Bible study; meeting people who live down the street from me...who knew?

Addicted to Writing
As I was nestling in to read a book, my mind kept going back to my Mt. Hermon experience, just a few weeks ago.
The California sun, roommates, and fellow writers are still fresh in my mind. Somehow, the excitement of meeting with fellow Christian writers, who mentored one another, has sparked a huge interest in writing for me.

Anyone is welcome in the Greeting Card Writers group. I would love to have experienced card writers join. Most members are new--wanting to learn and still trying to break in, myself included.
You able to return to Mount Hermon this year? I'm not due to pregnancy complications. I'll sure miss it!
I'm glad to hear your writing group is going along well. I thought about doing that in my locality, but with six kids and another now on the way, it isn't the best idea to run one in person. Encouragement goes a long way toward writing progress. I hope your group continues strong for many years.

Also- I went to PLU for a couple of years, way back when. I even know how to pronounce Puyallup!
Let me know what you thought of the class sessions this year for greeting card writing. We did some new things that will hopefully point you in the right direction!
